April
7, 2001 was the Lawrence Community's official introduction to ASA. ASA held
a cultural show to share members' heritage with the community. The event drew
approximately 250 people and was characterized by poetry, African dances, drumming,
fashion and cuisine. Attendants were informed of ASA's raison d'etre and what
we had accomplished thus far. There was a brief moment of silence for the lives
lost in Africa due to war and disease. Proceeds from the evening went to the
Feed My Lamb Charity. Click on the thumbnails to view larger pictures. Click
