What?
This is AbleHawks' first major event. The AbleHawks Kick-Off Party will take place in JAYBOWL, on the first floor of the Kansas Union.
It will included free bowling, free food and drinks, and door prizes!
There will also be an informational booth set up with our brochure available.
Why?
We are a new campus organization at the University of Kansas and our primary focus is to raise disability awareness among the campus wide population. At KU, a large university where diversity is celebrated, AbleHawks aims to give people with disabilities a platform for their collective voices to be heard through advocacy projects, campus events centered on disability history and culture, and finally by partenering with other groups at the university.
Through this event, AbleHawks hopes to gain more members and increase participation in the organization.
