Delta Chapter History


The fourth chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Delta chapter, was chartered on the campus of the University of Kansas on February 15, 1915. Delta chapter was chartered by one of our sixteen illustrious founders, Beulah E. Burke.

Delta chapter was the first black greek letter organization chartered on KU's campus. Our chapter is also the eighth sorority to be chartered at the University of Kansas and is one of four single-letter black greek chapters.
This year, in 2007, Delta chapter is celebrating 92 years of service.
