AIDS Foundation Houston works in collaboration with other organizations to reduce the incidence of HIV/AIDS and to support those living with HIV/AIDS. Participants will be involved in many of the Foundation’s support programs, including the Foundation’s soup kitchen and an educational outreach program, in which participants walk the streets handing out safe sex packets.

Give Kids The World is a non-profit resort that creates memories for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Since its founding in 1986, Give Kids The World has welcomed families from all 50 states and 50 countries. Misericordia is home to more than 550 children and adults with developmental and phsyical disabilities. They offer volunteer opportunities that are individually designed to help the children and adults achieve and maintain the highest level of independence possible. Participants will interact with these individual in their daily events, ranging from baking, puppetry, swimming, chores, and music.

Participants will work with homeowners whose income meets or falls below the local median. Mountain Housing Opportunities strives to make these homes more accessible by constructing home additions. Note: Mountain Housing works primarily outdoor and involves manual labor in its daily operations. Tasks can be assigned to each participant's abiltities.
