CPSO Officer Position Descriptions

Doctoral Co-President

  • Schedules all CPSO general and executive meetings and presides over said meetings.

  • Acts as main liaison between CPSO and faculty/staff of PRE department and University.

  • Can co-sign on all checks written on CPSO account with US Bank.

  • Can also authorize expenditures from University student organization account through Student Senate and overseen by Graduate and Professional Association (GPA).

  • Attends all University Events Committee meetings necessary for CPSO to hold on-campus events.

  • Responsible for filling out student organization registration form with Student Involvement and Leadership Center in the Kansas Union by the deadline each fall semester.

Master's Co-President

  • See duties of Doctoral Co-President.

Treasurer

  • Charged with collecting all membership dues as well as maintaining records of all deposits and withdrawals from CPSO account with US Bank.

  • Signs all checks from CPSO checkbook.

  • Maintains current membership records through an Excel database.

  • Maintains accurate deposits and expenditures for both US Bank account as well as University Student Senate GPA.

  • Attends all CPSO executive board and general meetings.

  • Maintains possession of CPSO US Bank Account checkbook, as well as CPSO US Bank check/debit card.

  • Responsible for helping incoming Treasurer make a smooth transition by going with him/her to US Bank branch to transfer all accounts into new treasurer's name and filling out appropriate transition paperwork.

  • Responsible for attending Graduate Student Organization Treasurer training during fall semester.

Doctoral (1) and Master's (1) Representatives to CPSY Program Meetings

  • Responsible for attending all monthly CPSY program meetings.

  • Acting as main liaisons between CPSY students and CPSY faculty.

  • Responsible for reporting issues of concern to faculty at CPSY meetings.

  • Responsible for attending all CPSO meetings and reporting any pertinent issues from CPSY meetings.

  • Has voting privileges at CPSY program meetings.

Doctoral (1) and Master's (1) Representatives to PRE Faculty Meetings

  • Responsible for attending all monthly PRE Faculty meetings.

  • Acting as main liaisons between CPSY students and all PRE faculty.

  • Responsible for reporting issues of concern to faculty at PRE meetings.

  • Responsible for attending all CPSO meetings and reporting any pertinent issues from PRE meetings.

  • Has voting privileges at PRE faculty meetings.
