Most of the Study Groups meet at the Adams Alumni Center, unless otherwise indicated. All events are open to all Endacott Society members and their guests.
Afternoon Lecture Series
Meets monthly at 2:30 p.m. on the second
Thursday of each month. Coffee and conversation at 2 p.m. precede the lecture.
Birthdays of Endacott members for the month are celebrated. Guest speakers
are announced in the Newsletter. Typical attendance range: 40-70
Armchair Travel
Meets at 2:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday
of the month about five or six times a year. Coffee and conversation at
2 p.m. precede the talk. Generally presentations are by members of the society
about their worldwide travels. Check the newsletter for dates and topics.
Typical attendance range: 30-50
Card-and-Game Theory
Meets afternoons
monthly on the third Thursday of the month
to develop Bridge and Scrabble skills. About 20 generally attend.
Cinema Studies
Meets monthly
at 2 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month to view and discuss classic
films. Check
the newsletter for dates and titles. Typical attendance range: 15-25
Computer Study
Meets from 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesdays during the academic year.
Topics include a wide range of computing issues, depending on the interests
of the group and availability of guest speakers. Attendees have varying
degrees of computer proficiency from early users to seasoned veterans of
computer combat. Check the monthly newsletter or link to our Web site for

Study Group for an outline of planned programs for the year. Typical
attendance range: 20-30.
Domestic Public Policy Study
Meets at 3:30 p.m. on the first Monday of the month
during the academic year to discuss issues of local interest.

Drama Study Group
This play reading group of 5-10 ordinarily meets at
1:30 p.m. on the second Friday of each month in the Music Room. Plays are
selected in advance and distributed to the readers. Check the newsletter
for date and play selection for the month.
Evening Lecture Series
A potluck dinner precedes the lecture, which is held
twice each semester and once in August.. Social time is 5:30 p.m. with dinner
at 6 p.m. The lecture follows dinner. Attendance range: 80-100

Foreign Policy Study
Meets on the second Monday of most months at 3:30
p.m. in the Adams Center Library. A wide variety of world affair issues
are discussed, usually with an outside presenter.
Gardening Seminar
Meets from 9 to 10 a.m. each Wednesday and sometimes
discusses gardening, though attendees never restrict or confine their discussion.
Topics are rarely announced in advance. Seminar members hold frequent plant
exchanges, particularly during the fall and spring. Some attend primarily
to insure good parking for the 10:00 a.m. group coffee.
Great Books Study Group
Meets at 1:45 on the second Wednesday of the most
months during the academic year to discuss books of mutual interest. Check
the newsletter for date and topic.
Music
Following the Ten O'Clock Scholars on Wednesdays a
musical program is presented for those who would like a few minutes of rest
and relaxation in the Music Room. Some members bring their own recordings
so they can hear them on really supurb sound equipment. A wide range of
musical styles is explored.
Opera Study
Periodically throughout the year opera fans meet to
share their love for Opera. Sometimes the group meets in private homes to
share the listening of Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts. Check the newsletter
for dates and planned events.
Out-of-Town Travel
Meets whenever and wherever the travel takes them.
Travel is usually by bus or car or sometimes by train. The coordinator is
open to suggested itineraries. Participant numbers may be limited by transportation
available. Cost of these travel events is paid by the participants. Check
the newsletter for dates and planned events. Attendance may vary from a
few to 80 or more.
Pre-Concert Dinner
Prior to some of the concerts at the Lied Center this
group meets for a theme meal usually at the Smith Center at Brandon Woods.
Members pay a fixed price to cover meal expenses. Check the newsletter for
dates and concert name.
Singing for Fun
This relatively new group meets as scheduled by the
coordinator. The purpose is to learn about group singing by singing in a
group. Check the newsletter for more details.
Ten O'clock Scholars, AKA “Wednesday Coffee”
About 90 members meet for coffee and business of the
organization each Wednesday at 10 a.m. The business meeting begins at 10:30
a.m. and usually lasts about 15 minutes. Upcoming events are described and
health reports about ailing members are shared.
