The 2006 Annual Meeting will convene immediately following the regular Wednesday Coffee, June 14. At this meeting we will elect officers for the coming year, present reports of Endacott Society Committees and Study Groups, and vote on new bylaws.

Afternoon Lecture Series

May 11—Program begins at 2:30; sherry at 2:00. Following the birthday celebration for May birthdays, our speaker will be Leonard Krishtalka, Director of the Natural History Museum and Biodiversity Research Center. We will learn something of what is a Biodiversity Research Center, and plans for it future.

Congratulations yet again to DSG regulars for bravely and successfully coping with multiple--and differing--versions of the text, all of which bodes well for Acts IV and V yet to come--not that they will be any kind of a breeze. Come find out, and join the fun, brushing up your Schiller in the process. (Do you suppose this is the first time "fun" and "Schiller" have ever turned up in the same sentence?)

May 10—1:45. Mary Boyden will lead discussion of Momik, by David Grossman, one of Israel's most highly regarded young writers. In addition to numerous awards, Grossman is highly regarded because he speaks Arabic and is interested in Palestinian-Israeli relations.

Metropolitan Opera Radio

The trip will include: lunch at Spartan Café, Wichita Art Museum; tour of Art Museum; tour of Botanica, Wichita’s botanical gardens; drinks at the home of Tom and Jill Docking. Make reservations at Wednesday coffees, or contact Ev Swartz. Reservations close May 16; there is a limit of 30 for this trip.
