The 2006 Annual Meeting will convene immediately following the regular Wednesday Coffee, June 14. At this meeting we will elect officers for the coming year, present reports of Endacott Society Committees and Study Groups, and vote on new bylaws.

Afternoon Lecture Series
Roberta Spires (rspires@ku.edu, 842-6820), Mary Schweppe (schweppe@ku.edu, 842-1147), and Howard O'Connor (843-1884). Bill Hambleton (wwhamble@ku.edu, 843-2508), Tom Eblen (teblen@sunflower.com, 865-3634), and Jerry Niebaum (jniebaum@wizardofkansas.com, 842-3127) are in charge of programs.
June 8—Program begins at 2:30; sherry at 2:00. Following the birthday celebration for June birthdays, our speaker will be Gene Meyer, President and CEO of the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. He will discuss long-term development at the Hospital.
Card and Game Theory

In addition, anyone interested in other games is urged to contact Ruth Ann Culvahouse, who will try to find others with an interest in playing. Drama Study Group

June 9—1:30 in the Music Room. The Group will undertake Acts IV and V of Schiller's Mary Stuart, thus concluding its reading of that classic historical drama. (In light of the Group's recent exploration of Act III of the play, the appellation "historical" might perhaps be adjusted slightly to read "more or less historical." Win, lose or draw, however, suggestions of plays to be read at forthcoming meetings will, as always, be very much in order at the June meeting.)

Opera Study

June 2—1:30, on the second floor. A special Summer recess presentation! Jim Seaver will present a DVD video recording of Donizetti's Lucia de Lammermoor, with the title role being sung by the famous American soprano, Anna Moffo. Jim did a program "In Memorium to Anna Moffo" on April 4, in his long-running KPR radio series Opera Is My Hobby. That program and some discussions that followed stimulated the scheduling of this special presentation. (Anna Moffo died on March 9, 2006.)
