Drama Study Group
Arnold Weiss (ahweiss@ku.edu, 842-5502)
September 8—1:30 in the Music Room. Having completed its reading of Talley's Folly, first element of Lanford Wilson's Oark trilogy, we move on in September to its sequel, Talley & Son.
The choice of Talley & Son as the group's next vehicle may have been rash; but, let us hope, not unduly so. As opposed to Talley's Folly, which required only two actors, Talley & Son involves the entire Talley tribe (plus a few non-Talleys), which means that at times as many as nine characters (most of them aggressively vocal) are on stage at the same time. So this is therefore a call for reinforcements. Please clear your early September and early October schedules and plan to rally round in true Endacott Society mode. (Knowledge of Southwest Missouri culture and/or World War II are a plus, but are by no means required.) Multiple copies of the play will be provided. Again in advance—thanks all 'round.
As announced earlier (and indicated above), September marks the Group's return to its customary second Friday date. (But an advance Nota Bene: An important KU event is going to require a —hopefully only one-time— reversion to a first Friday date in October, i.e., October 6. Please mark your calendar accordingly.)
