Calendar Files

When you subscribe to our free calendar file you will be able to view our events in your calendar program in real-time. This way you will know exactly when and where an event is. Best of all you can see where it fits into your busy schedule. To subscribe to our calendar file you will need a program or online service that accepts subscribing to URL/remote iCalendar (.ics) files. Below are the instructions for the most commonly used or available choices. If your service's or program's instructions are not listed here, but you know they support these files then please contact us so we may add instructions. If you feel you don't need instructions then you are free to setup your calendar with this URL:

  1. Go to 'File' in the top menu and click 'New Calendar'.
  2. Your new calendar will appear in the calendar list om left pane.
  3. Type in a name for your calendar. Right click your new calendar in list and click 'Subscribe'.
  4. Paste http://groups.ku.edu/~environs/subscriptions/calendar-files/common.ics into the Calendar URL: field.
  5. Click 'Subscribe'. You are done

  1. Go to the Chandler Desktop downloads page, and install the correct version for your operating system.
  2. Open Chandler Desktop and go to the top menu and click 'Share' then click 'Subscribe'.
  3. Paste http://groups.ku.edu/~environs/subscriptions/calendar-files/common.ics into the URL: field.
  4. Click the 'Subscribe' button, then restart Chandler Desktop to force refresh. You are done

  1. Go to the Google Calendar login page and login to your Google account, if you don't have one create one.
  2. In the left menu click the link 'Add' then click the option 'Add by URL'.

  4. Click the 'Add Calendar' button. You are done.

  1. Go to the Mozilla Lightning downloads page, and install the correct version for your operating system.
  2. Open Mozilla Sunbird and go to the top menu and click 'File' then click 'Subscribe to Remote Calendar'.
  3. Choose 'On the Network' then click 'Next'. Choose format as 'iCalendar (ICS)'.
  4. Paste http://groups.ku.edu/~environs/subscriptions/calendar-files/common.ics into the Location: field.
  5. Click 'Next' then choose a name and color for the calendar.
  6. Check 'Show Alarms' if you prefer to be notified of events with a display 2 days prior to it's time.
  7. Click 'Next' then click 'Finish'. Right click your calendar in the calendar tab on left. Click on 'Properties'.
  8. Check 'Read Only' then click 'OK'. You are done.

  1. Go to the Windows Live Calendar Login page and login to your Live account, if you don't have one create one.
  2. If prompted select your timezone from the list. Lawrence, KS is '(GMT-06:00) Central Time (US & Canada)'.
  3. Click the 'Subscribe' link located above the calendar. Choose 'Subscribe to a public calendar'.
  4. Paste http://groups.ku.edu/~environs/subscriptions/calendar-files/common.ics into the Calendar URL: field.
  5. Choose a name and color for the calendar.
  6. Click 'Subscribe to calendar' then Click 'Done'. You are done

  1. Go to the Yahoo Calendar Login page and login to your Yahoo account, if you don't have one create one.

  3. Click the 'Go To The New Yahoo! Calendar' button.
  4. Click the [+] icon in the 'Calendars' box on right menu then click 'Subscribe to Calendar'.
  5. Paste http://groups.ku.edu/~environs/subscriptions/calendar-files/common.ics into the iCal Address: field.
  6. Click the 'Next' button. Choose a name and color for the calendar.
  7. Click the 'Save' button. You are done.
