Mission
We, the First Nations Student Association, strive to provide a supportive community for Native students at the University of Kansas and promote a cultural awareness for the KU campus and the Lawrence community.
We are deeply committed to promoting higher education among Native communities and Native students. FNSA provides support systems of opportunities and information regarding educational and financial resources. FNSA also provides an environment for Native students to build and preserve contacts.
Through discourse and the development of workshops and informational sessions, FNSA hopes to further the progression of Native issues and awareness of the Native community at large. We support the University of Kansas in its efforts to incorporate Native curricula within the larger university community.
The First Nations Student Association endeavors to maintain close relations with other Native groups on campus, including American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), the Native American Law Student Association (NALSA), and other groups in the Multicultural Resource Center (MRC) family. FNSA also greatly values dialogue and interaction among Haskell Indian Nations University and the Lawrence Native community
