The University of Kansas Water Polo Team is open to all students attending the university of all playing levels. The team is part of the university's sports club program and is entirely student run. We work to improve skills, compete effectively and have a good time. Practices are held a few times per week at Robinson Pool. The team competes in the Collegiate Water Polo League in the fall and attends invitationals at various locations in the spring.

The Kansas Water Polo Team is a member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association. During the 2005 season the team competed in the Great Plains Division against Nebraska, Iowa State, South Dakota, and Minnesota. The 2005 KU team had one of its strongest performances ever, finishing 2nd after extra time in a thrilling Championship game against undefeated Iowa State.

The team competes in the Great Plains division of the CWPA in the fall and attends various invitational tournaments in the spring. Last spring, KU was proud to host its first invitational that consisted of the KC Blazers, Mizzou and Wyoming. The tournament was a huge success and we hope to host another tournament Spring 2007.

With only 3 members graduating from the team this year, and with the addition of new talent, KU is looking forward to an even stronger team in Fall 2006 against a new Great Plains line up consisting of Iowa State, Marquette, Minnesota and Minnesota – Mankato.
