Weekly Dinner & Discovery

• Friday 6pm at Len & Mary.s home
• Many students want to learn about the Bible while in the USA, so we offer times to gather and learn about the Bible with others who have a similar interest.
• We.ll start with dinner and then read and discuss a passage of the Bible together.

Kansas Conversations

• this is 5 weeks of getting to know about Kansas, meeting some of the Americans conversation partners in International Friends and a easy place to practice your own English.
• each week we.ll focus on a .secret. of Kansas with a short presentation, group discussions, games.. We.ll talk about cowboys, pioneers, the civil war, Oz...
• this will include two special events:
• tour of Old West Lawrence (Aug 30)
• trip to the KS History museum and state capital in Topeka (Sept 27)

English Conversation Partners

This is our most popular activity! It is a great chance to build a friendship with an American student or community person - and the best practice possible for improving your spoken English. We match one American with one International student of the same sex. They meet once each week for an hour just to talk. However, this is designed for intermediate level speakers and not for someone who is only beginning to learn English.

International Lunch

The first Sunday of every month at the home of Walt & Ann Kihm, 315 Dakota Street (behind Checkers grocery store) at 12:15pm.

Bible Discussions

• Tuesdays 6pm at Joshua's home
• We'll start with dinner and then read and discuss a passage of the Bible together. This summer, we'll look at parts of the Bible which discuss God's concern for justice in our world and our response.
