History:

CSW was founded in 1956 by Emily Taylor in order to address challenges women face on the University of Kansas campus. She soon expanded the program to the national level and in collaboration with President Kennedy to help end gender discrimination in the United States. The organization has expanded over the years to address a variety of gender related issues.
