It was on August 15, 1947 the nation woke up breathing in the air of freedom to herald a new beginning. It is the freedom that gave India a new identity as a sovereign country after 300 years of colonial rule. Since then it has become a day of special significance - celebrated with the tricolor, the parades, the patriotic speeches, songs and the remembrance. |
