THE UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS

Intervarsity Graduate Student and Faculty Christian Fellowship

Looking for a Bible study or fellowship group? Here is a quick list of groups IVGCF has available this semester. Contact us with any questions that you may have.

Bible Studies, Discussions, and Fellowship Groups

Choose from the groups below or be creative and form your own theme-based fellowship group: prayer, service projects, walking, ethnic dining, hobbying, biking, movie watching, etc!

Contemporary Literature Discussion Group: We (faculty and grad students) meet weekly in the Kansas Union to discuss a book of common interest. The book selection for the spring semester is Charles Taylor's A Secular Age. Discussions take place on Thursdays,11:30am to 12:30pm, in alcove A of the Marketplace food service area on the Union's third floor.

First-Year Grad Student Discipling/Bible Study Group meets Wednesday evenings, 7:00pm at 2009 Oxford Road (near Harvard & Oxford, 749-3396). We are having Bible study/discussions in the Gospel of Mark. Contact Denny Chadwick.

Grad Student Discipling/Bible Study Group: Currently beginning a study of the Gospel of Mark, Sundays, 4:00 pm at 2428 Redbud Lane Apt. E (856-3053, near 25th & Iowa), home of Kevin and Lori Lee. Contact Kevin at kevinlorilee@gmail.com.

Faculty Prayer Group: every Tuesday, 8:00am, Burge Union cafe alcove. A gently structured opportunity for unified worship, petitions, confession, and vision for redeeming the campus culture. Other faculty prayer groups are encouraged: if God is prompting you to ask a colleague or two to start one, by all means do so. United prayer is foundational to pressing the kingdom of God into KU.

Fellowship of Post-docs/Research Professors/Visiting Scholars: This is posted here (in September '07) as a seed-thought for a possible new weekly or twice-monthly group for non-tenure-track PhDs, which would possibly gather for mutual encouragement, Bible study, service projects, or other purposes. If you want to pursue the idea and/or find out how much other interest has been expressed, contact Denny Chadwick or at 749-3396.
