MEETING ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 29TH

PLEASE CONTACT YOUR SCHOOL A.S.A.P. IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY!

Home Depot has a plinco board that we can use at the park
event!!

Yesterday, Diane Plunkett came to the meeting to give us
suggestions and things to think about when working with kids.

Here are some
things to think about.

-Put kids into groups and have one of us as the group leader to
help
them through the different stations. Have a quiet signal.

-Have some kind of free gift for parents at the end of the
event.

-Kids know the difference between right and wrong, but we may
need to
remind them (ie. Put your hands in your pockets).

-Set up specific areas/ boundaries.

-In competitive activities, set kids up for success.

That's it, folks. Have a great weekend!

MEETING ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 15TH

Basically this will just serve as reminders for what should be done by
our next meeting after break.

Make sure to bring $3 for Carlos for the park. This money will be
refunded.

Also, I've put the letters in the office. Please go by and pick them
up to pass out to your schools.

FIGHT is a new campus group which is pushing to get University money
divested from Sudan. If you're at all interested in the group,
contact Lennea for more information.

Have a great break!

MEETING ON WEDNESDAY MARCH 8TH

*** We haven't been meeting the requirements for office hours. Just
make sure that you are signing in at the front desk. There is a red
folder on the counter- find KUUNICEF and write in the time you got
there, the time you left and the total number of hours with your
initials. That's all it takes! ***

Carlos has to make a $30 deposit for the park. Next week, bring $3,
which will be given back to you after the event.

We will meet to discuss the puppet show and write the script at 3:30
on Friday at Milton's Cafe on the bottom floor of the Union.

Tonight we voted on the activities that we'll be having at the
"Children of the World Day" (again, April 23 from 1-5pm)

-Scavenger Hunt: Justin and Jomana
-Jeopardy: Krystina and Tashia
-Plinco plane: Lennea and Jon
-Passports: Sara and David
-Crafts Table: Paola and Krystina
-Message Board: Jomana and David
-Water Transportation: Akshaya and Carlos
-Info Table: Layla, Rajjesh, Mike, Becca, Loyola, Mousam

If your name is next to the list of events, you will be responsible
for that specific write up next week. Your write up should just be a
short description as to what the activity is and any items we'll need
to get. If you could not be at tonight's meeting we stuck you in the
Info Table group. If you're interested in something else, let us know
and we can change that.

We are also going to see if it would be possible to get UNICEF pins
and/ or bracelets to give out.

I hope everyone enjoys American Idle. Have a great week!

Lara
