MEETING ON MONDAY OCTOBER 24th Download Minutes

Trick or treat...
25 trick or treat boxes were taken to the public library! They had
requested 50 boxes, but we only had 25 in the office... I think that
is actually a good sign because it means we're doing our job!

We found a venue for the International Dinner. It will be held at the
First Presbyterian Church, but the date has been moved to November 17.

INVISIBLE CHILDREN IS BEING SHOWN TOMORROW!
Show up about 15 or 20 minutes before the film begins to help table.

We will have our regular meeting next week. It will be short,
followed by a little trick or treating of our own through the streets
of Lawrence. Costumes are more than welcome!

MEETING ON MONDAY OCTOBER 10th Download Minutes

Tonight I've decided to be informal, so deal with it.

I wasn't planning on posting this yet for 2 reasons.
1- I should be working on my midterm paper
2- Taylor says he gets too many emails from me
BUT technically I should be in class right now, so I feel that I am
not really wasting time by sending this out... although when is UNICEF
ever a waste of time?!

Okay, enough with the intro.

Good meeting tonight- read on...

MOVIE SHOWING-
I've heard from 3 people about the movie and we've decided to do it at
9 pm tomorrow. If that works for you, my address is 1320 Vermont
Street (that can also be used to send postcards from your fall break
endeavors! seriously). White house, red shutters. Food is more than
welcome, but I don't think we'll be cooking tomorrow. I realize that
this week is bad because of midterms, so if anyone wants to have a
third showing after break, I am more than happy to.

PTA @ CORDLEY-
I am giving a presentation (?) to the PTA tomorrow about Trick or
Treat and would love it if someone could come with me. 7:30 pm Let
me know.

INTERNATIONAL DINNER-
Because of recent disasters (earthquake in Pakistan/ mudslides in
Guatemala/ famine in Niger due to drought) we have decided that we
need to create presentations about issues such as these to be given at
the dinner. We also brainstormed some other money makers for the
event- non-alcoholic bar, juice stop donations, presentation from
professor of earthquakes and natural disasters.
We still need to settle on a location and our choices are between the
Presbyterian church, the Catholic Community Center or Grace Episcopal
(sorry if I butchered those spellings).

Carlos also went through a slide show about Rx for Survival (November
1-3 9 pm)

MEETING ON MONDAY OCTOBER 3rd Download Minutes

At last night's meeting we discussed the INTERNATIONAL DINNER.
Representatives from ISA and MSA came to discuss where we might hold
the event. It seems that there is some interest in the Fairgrounds,
although it may cost $350. If so, we will stick with the Presbyterian
Church, although we also discussed the Catholic Community Center.

We decided that we will split all of the money raised, with 50% going
to Katrina and the other 50% donated to the general UNICEF fund.

You can find TRICK OR TREAT boxes in the office. Take some boxes and
pass them out to friends!

Don't forget about TABLING the week. Paola sent out the schedule in a
previous email. All of those who signed up to table at Wescoe will
meet in the Union, except for Friday when we are able to set up on Wescoe.

MINUTES ARCHIVE

I am going to host another showing of the INVISIBLE CHILDREN
documentary. If you missed the last one or are interested in seeing
it again before the October 26th showing, email me at larahol@ku.edu
with your available times. I'd like to meet on an evening next week,
but will be unavailable on Monday night.
