MONDAY SEPTEMBER 25TH

Hello everyone! Here are the minutes from our meeting Monday. They are very brief.

A Bill sent to KU Senate for general funding money for our group is on the Senate's consenting list, meaning that we will probably get the funds for $200!

On another note, in the cubicle for our group is a map that has been divided as well as a list of businesses. People can stop by and sign up for whatever blocks/ businesses they want to. We need to start hitting these places for the International Dinner. Going to businesses allows use to ask for donations for the auction. They can donate whatever they want, ie gift certificates, etc.

We are starting our October campagin of Trick or Treat for UNICEF. People can pick up the small orange boxes that we showed at the last meeting at the cubicle. Please spread the word to family, friends, co-workers, clubs/organizations. We want to raise as muh money as possible. People can donate as little or as much as they want. Every bit helps. For instance, just 10 cents lets a child be immunized against diseases like polio. You can take as many boxes as you want and place them anywhere. Dorms, schol. halls, and greek houses are great places to get donations.

One last thing. UNICEF has a new thing for groups to put on their websites. It is the Emergency Disaster Relief link. People who go say our KU UNICEF's website and see this link can make donations that go to UNICEF directly. They can make donations either by cash or credit card. We are thinging about doing this and then we can set up our own goal of how much we want to raise.

MONDAY SEPTEMBER 18TH

Hi gang. Here are the minutes from this Monday, 9-18:

Things have changed slightly concerning the International Dinner. The date has been changed to Nov. 16, Thurs. at 7 pm. It is no longer going to be on Nov. 14 as originally planned. Also, the dinner will probably be held at the Presbyterian Church on Clinton Parkway across the street from the soccer field. The ECM will be co-sponsoring the event! We also voted on the topic in which we the money raised will go toward. We chose the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Also, we are gearing up for Trick or Treat For UNICEF. We are hoping to raise hundreds of dollars and put that money toward buying schools in a box. One box full of school supplies will help 80 kids!!! Each one costs $190. People will be able to pick up the boxes for people to put money into for Trick or Treat in the near future. We need you guys to spread the word so we can raise campus awareness of UNICEF and to raise lots of money.

One last thing. Next week's meeting will be in Alcove G on the 3rd fl of KS Union by where people eat. An email will be sent next week with this info. It still will be at 8pm Monday.
