Native Faculty and Staff Council
The mission of the Native Faculty and Staff Council at the University of Kansas is to increase the recruitment, retention, leadership, and success of Native peoples at the University of Kansas. The Council promotes an academic and social environment at KU that recognizes, respects, and welcomes the great value of Native peoples and their cultures.
NFSC Initiatives
The Native Faculty and Staff Council (NFSC) seeks to focus on initiatives specifically related to the well being of the University of Kansas’ Native Faculty and Staff, including but not limited to:
- Creating and sustaining an active Native community at the University of Kansas that celebrates achievements, acknowledges milestones, represents concerns and provides advocacy for community members when needed; Creating an environment that attracts, welcomes and retains Native faculty, staff, and students;
- Developing effective, ethical, innovative, respectful, and culturally appropriate partnerships with our tribal communities and Haskell Indian Nations University;
- Improving the career pipeline for faculty and staff at KU.
