Only at Pearson

Testimonials

Pearson has been one of the greatest advantages in my College career. Instantly upon arriving, I found a network of around 45 supportive guys that helped me get on my feet and running. I was instantly broken from the timid shell I maintained that represented my fears of the unknown of College. When I was told nobody locks their doors and that everyone's door is usually opened, my preconceived notions about what a college dorm was like were demolished. No other living situation could be more beneficial to helping a student succeed. There are undoubtedly others in the hall that have the same major, and through this avenue I have gained priceless advice. Not one semester so far have I ended up doing what my advisor suggested, but rather I have ended up taking the input of my fellow peers here at Pearson. Whether that is a good or bad thing, time will tell. Our Proctor has been someone that the entire hall can look up to. Countless times I have sought advice about clubs, organizations, or just more ways to get involved on campus, and every time he has been there to provide me with something I hadn't considered. I also enjoy the variety of views in our hall, and the constant flow of discussion surrounding them. I was told by a teacher that when I came to College, discussion would move from talking about people, to talking about things, and finally, to talking about ideas. These conversations about ideas are what have helped shape me the most in my college career, and I am cognizant of that more and more each day. There are countless role models within Pearson, myself included, and it brings me great joy to continue the traditions of Pearson with every incoming batch of Newmen. Thanks to all of you for leaving such a great place to live, for I know the memories made here will stick with me for the rest of my life.
