Pride Week is here!
Monday, April 20th:
10:50-1:50 Kiss-In
Lawn in front of Strong Hall
The kiss-in is a PW tradition here on campus. Basically queer people get together in a visible place on campus and...do some PDA! This event takes place in-between class periods, which are 10 minutes each, and possibly for an extended time during the noon-1pm lunch hour. You are welcome to participate if you have a significant other or willing friends. There will be "gay" and "straight" couples alike.

- Pride Night is no longer at the Granada!!
- Queers and Allies has moved their monthly Pride Nights to Wilde's Chateau 24 (Where Molly Mcgee's use to be 2412 Iowa Lawrence, KS 66046)
- The first Monday of every month is now Solidarity Day! On Solidarity Day you should all wear you 'gay? fine by me' T-shirt and/or your 'Be you at KU' Wristband.
- If you don't have a 'gay? fine by me' T-shirt you can stop by the Q&A office to pick one up with a small donation.

During Pride Week 2008 there was a group of five Freshmen that tore down some of our Rainbow flags. They later apologized and here is a letter they wrote explaining why they did what they did:
'Dear Editor,
In the last week the five of us took 5 Gay Pride Week flags off of Jayhawk Boulevard. We are submitting this letter to sincerely apologize and let the student body know that this was not a malicious act towards the Queers and Allies Organization and especially what the flags stand for. We are in no way homophobic, and we do not want this to be seen as an act of aggression. If anything we stand behind Q and A as being important to the University of Kansas. This was solely an act of mischief and immaturity. We can understand how this situation could be perceived as an act against the LGBT community, and felt it was especially important to disprove this idea. We all would like to extend our greatest apologies towards Q and A and the student body, we are sincerely sorry.
