- Matthew Candelaria wishes to put a better face on the
English Department by representation in GTAL committee and Alumni
Advisory Committee.
- Shawn Thomson acquired $650 from Senate and asked for ideas on
spending the money, perhaps a speaker or a conference or travel
grants?
- The FSE committee has not met yet, but Emily Donnelli mentioned
Professional Development Workshop of The Everyday Writer on Wednesday,
September 18.
- Emily Wicktor created a graduate representative position on the
Library Committee.
- Kristin Bovaird-Abbo asked for ideas for the newsletter and also
asks everyone to check the SAGE website that has a link from the
English Department page.
- Beth Lagaron will take Allen's place with Laura Mark assisting for
the Creative Readings. Tentative date will be October 5th, and we may
be seeking a new place to do it November 23rd.
- Samantha Parkes and Mindi McMann are in charge of the SAGE
Halloween party. Ideas discussed were a marathon reading of Poe or a
scary literary theme. Also, should the party be held the weekend
before or after Halloween (the 31st is on a Thursday)?
- One more SAGE meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on November 7th
at Café Nova.
- Kirby Fields will continue with Academics' Anonymous.
- Crystal Gorham announced that on Tuesday, September 17th at 4 p.m. in
the conference room, there will be a SAGE Professional Development
Seminar, and from 6-7 p.m. at La Prima Tasa, there will be a feminist
discussion group.
