The Health
Law Society and the Running Club are working together to man booth
at the Lawrence Half Marathon. Currently, we are in need of 10
more people to assist. Stacy Harper is the coordinator
for our station along Massachusetts Street. We are one of the
first stations in the race and it will be awesome to see a group of
KU Law students there. The race is April 20th and volunteers
need to arrive by 7am. Work should be done by 9 am; volunteers
will be receiving t-shirts and a free brunch. The race
benefits the Health Care Access Clinic here in Lawrence.
Several students and faculty
members will be
running in the race. Let’s cheer them on while doing a great service to
the community.

The Moreau Award was established by Jean Moreau
to perpetuate the spirit of her husband, our Dean from 1937 to 1957
and known for his concern for students. A Moreau Award
recipient must be a faculty member who, in the eyes of the students,
has been particularly helpful in advising and counseling with students. The
winner must be a full time professor at the School of Law. The Moreau
Award is traditionally given at the Walk to
Old Green Hall, currently Lippincot Hall. The date is TBD at this
time.
