University Women's Club
Scholarship
| The University Women's Club Scholarship
was established in 1915 and is the oldest continuing scholarship
at the University of Kansas. More than 171 women have benefited
from UWC scholarships.
The first scholarship awarded was for $100 and that amount continued
until 1950, when the award was doubled. In the 1970s, scholarships
of $500, $600, and $700 were divided between two recipients and
given annually.
In 1985, the University Women's Club Scholarship fund was endowed.
The endowment continues to grow through generous support from
members of the University Women's Club. Scholarships are awarded
annually and the earnings of the endowment determine the amount
given. In the past few years, multiple recipients have received
scholarships ranging from $1200 to $2500. The number of recipients
and and dollar amount varies from year to year.
The enrollment form for the 2011-2012 scholarships will be available
in August 2011. |
Congratulations to the 2010-2011
